Auf dem Zahnfleisch

Kein Schmerz, kein Unfall, kein Regen, heute gab es eine Krone bei Frau S, direkt beim Essen. Ernüchterung (welch. Passendes Wort an dieser Stelle) trat ein. Begleitet von einem süffisanten Lächeln.

Denn eins war klar, dass man hier eine Neue als Härtefall zugesprochen bekommt, ist so wahrscheinlich wie Geld finden, obwohl Herr M. ja letztes Jahr Silvester noch 100 Euro gefunden hätte.

Man könnte sagen, also nicht unwahrscheinlich, aber die Realität ist wohl, dass der letzte Geldfund einen Erneuten nicht wahrscheinlicher sondern noch unrealistischer macht.

Anyway, vom verzweifelten Aufgeben hatten sich Herr M und seine Frau schon lange verabschiedet, denn in ein Land, in dem man arbeitslos fürs Militär gemustert wird, wollten sie nicht zurück; zumindest nicht dauerhaft. Aber ein kurzer Abstecher lässt sich jetzt wohl mittelfristig nicht verhindern.

Na gut, dann eben bald die verbliebenen Zähne zusammenbeißen, sparen und dann Augen zu und durch. Es ist ja nicht für die Ewigkeit.

On the gums
No pain, no accident, no rain, today there was a crown at Mrs. S’s, right at lunch. Disillusionment (what an appropriate word at this point) set in. Accompanied by a smug smile.

Because one thing was clear, getting a new one as a hardship case is as likely as finding money, although Mr. M. would have found 100 euros last New Year’s Eve.

You could say that it’s not unlikely, but the reality is that the last money find doesn’t make another one more likely, but even more unrealistic.

Anyway, Mr. M and his wife had long since given up in despair, because they didn’t want to go back to a country where you can be drafted into the military without a job, at least not permanently. But a brief detour is probably unavoidable in the medium term.

All right, then grit your remaining teeth, save money and then close your eyes and get on with it. After all, it’s not for eternity.
