Valentinstag

Es gibt Pech und es gibt Dummheit. Aber beide gehören bei mir eng zusammen, denn wenn das Pech, das jeder haben kann, wie bei uns Grad das Wetter, sich zieht, oder auch nur ein bisschen häuft, werde ich ungeduldig und dann kommt bei mir die Dummheit ins Spiel.

Man steht im Schlamm, es regnet seit und für die nächsten Tage und da ich weiss, wie das ist, im Schlamm festzusitzen, fahre ich, solange es noch möglich scheint, auf festeren Boden.

Nein, nein, nicht wie sie und Silvana denken: Das war nicht das Problem. Wir sitzen nicht fest, aber ich bin beim Rangieren über unseren Stecker vom wasserfesten Verlängerungskabel gefahren.

Na ja, sehen wir es positiv, wir können fahren und so werden wir uns nun kurz aufmachen, um einen neuen Stecker zu holen, damit Silvana das Kabel wieder reparieren kann und wenn das nicht klappt, dann gibt es zum Valentinstag eben  Kabelsalat zum romantischen Abendessen.

Valentine’s Day
There is bad luck and there is stupidity. But for me, the two go hand in hand, because when the bad luck that anyone can have, like the weather here at Grad, drags on, or even just piles up a little, I get impatient and then stupidity comes into play.

You’re standing in the mud, it’s been raining for the next few days and, as I know what it’s like to be stuck in the mud, I drive onto firmer ground while it still seems possible.

No, no, don’t think like her and Silvana: that wasn’t the problem. We’re not stuck, but I drove over our plug from the waterproof extension cable while maneuvering.

Well, let’s look on the bright side, we can drive and so we’re going to go and get a new plug so that Silvana can repair the cable and if that doesn’t work, we’ll just have cable salad for a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day.
